Unable to have a Human wife due to a spell placed upon him by his own mother, the heartbroken Llew Llaw Gyffes believed he was to be alone forever.
However, upon hearing of the fate which fell upon Llew, his Uncle Gwydion (a powerful Wizard) used his powers to create Llew a wife. A wife conjured up from the flowers of the oak, the flowers of the broom, and the flowers of the meadowsweet. She was the most beautiful maiden anyone had ever seen. They named her Blodeuwedd.
